Akeal Hosein is a bowling all-rounder that hails from Trinidad. Known for his tight wicket-to-wicket left-arm spin and his ability to score quickly in the lower middle-order, Hosein was a part of the West Indies' squad for the 2012 Under-19 World Cup. He played domestically for Trinidad & Tobago and for the Barbados Tridents in the CPL between 2014 and 2019.

An international debut had to wait till January 2021 in an ODI series against Bangladesh and a T20I debut came quickly thereafter against Sri Lanka. He became only one of ten players to be awarded a central white-ball contract by Cricket West Indies in 2021.
